Weight Loss Secrets of the Pros 1

The love hate relationship of weight loss. We all love to lose weight but hate to give up the special little treats we all “deserve”. We all love to lose weight but hate exercising. We all love to lose weight but hate to eat rabbit food. It goes on and on. But what we do that will make a difference? We spoke to some of the top experts and here is what they say.

1.   Kayla Itsines  Instagram Fitness Queen

 Always Eat Breakfast
This rule is non-negotiable in my books. Skipping breakfast may never help you lose weight because your body needs it to function throughout the day. Skipping meals may slow down your metabolism, which can impact everything you eat for the rest of the day, and may also put you at risk of overeating. Not only that but if you are exercising that day, you may find your energy levels lower than usual and no one wants to get half way through a workout and start feeling sick!

The type of breakfast you eat is important so make sure you are choosing wisely. Stick to complex (brown) carbohydrates and some form of protein as this can provide you with sustained energy and keep you full up until your next meal.

2.   Dr. Phil McGraw – Tough-Love Talk Show Host

Right Thinking: Get rid of negative thoughts, and replace them with positive ones.

McGraw's food plan emphasizes fresh fruit and vegetables, beans and legumes, meats, poultry, fish, whole grains, and some cereals.

It downplays foods that have empty calories or are loaded with sugar, extra fat, too much salt, or certain additives.

You eat three meals and two snacks daily. Meal replacement beverages and bars are OK once in a while.

You should drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily on this plan. McGraw also suggests a high-quality multiple vitamin-mineral supplement.

3.   Ronda Rousey – MMA Fighter

The 28-year-old, who trains twice a day, is a follower of the Dolce Diet, which focuses on eating whole, nutrient-rich foods that are believed to help maintain muscle mass. And while the mixed martial arts fighter has said that she feels her most beautiful at 150lbs, her fighting weight is actually 135lbs, and she has to follow a regimented food plan in order to stick to it.

'It's not really so much for tastes as it is for, like, sustenance,' Ronda told of her strict diet. 'I'm just happy to have a full stomach… It's not a bad thing to feel full and feel satisfied -you're supposed to.'

Hey guys!

You eat well and exercise, but can’t lose weight?

There are 2 possible reasons:

1. You’re not being true to yourself. Write down what you’re eating for a whole week THEN tell me if you’re not sneaking in tiny cookies at night that “don’t count.”

2. Ok, you probably have a valid point.

Because I’ve been there and many people have too.

Logically, you would think, the more you work out, the better you eat, the more weight you lose no matter what right? Apparently no. There’s another factor.

Stress!!!

I know. It’s frustrating. So let me explain why this happens and what you can do about it.

WHY STRESS MAKES YOU FAT

When your brain detects the presence of a threat, no matter if it is a bad grade on a test, a big credit card bill you can’t pay, or a huge grizzly bear running at you:

1. You get a burst of adrenaline, which taps into your stored energy so you can fight or flee.

2. At the same time, you get a surge of cortisol, which tells your body to replenish that energy.

In the short run, adrenaline makes you feel less hungry as your blood flows away from the internal organs and to your larger muscles to prepare for the fight or flee scenario. However, once the effects of adrenaline become weaker, cortisol, which is known as the “stress hormone,” lingers and signals your body to replenish your food supply!
